Property Compliance UK
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 July 2026
This policy explains how Property Compliance UK ("we", "us")
collects and uses your personal data when you use our compliance checker and
account (the "Service") at propertycomplianceuk.co.uk. We are the data
controller for this information.
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number,
company name (if given), and a password (stored only as a secure hash - we
never see it).
- Property details: property address and postcode,
ownership type, number of bedrooms, whether it has gas, EPC rating, and the
certificate / deadline dates you enter (EICR, Gas Safety, EPC, service charge,
ground rent, lease, and any custom deadlines).
- Reminder preferences: which channels you choose (email,
SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram) and any Telegram username.
- Technical data: your IP address (used briefly for
security and rate-limiting) and a session cookie so you stay logged in. We use
Cloudflare Turnstile to check you are a real person, which may process limited
technical data.
2. Why we use it (lawful basis)
- To provide the Service - create your account, store your
properties, show your deadlines and send you reminders. Basis: performance of
our agreement with you, and your consent for reminders.
- To help you arrange work - if you ask us to, we may use
your details to arrange a qualified engineer. Basis: your request / consent.
- Security and fraud prevention - honeypot, rate-limiting,
Turnstile. Basis: our legitimate interests in keeping the Service safe.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with:
- Our hosting provider (OVH), which stores the data on our behalf in the UK/EU.
- Cloudflare, for the "are you human" check (bot protection).
- A contractor - only if you ask us to arrange work for a specific
property, and only the details needed to do the job.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and property data while your account is active. If you
close your account or ask us to delete it, we remove your personal data (we may
keep minimal records where the law requires).
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to: access your data, correct it, delete it,
restrict or object to processing, receive a copy (portability), and withdraw
consent at any time. To do any of these, contact us (below). You can also
delete a property yourself from your dashboard.
6. Contact
Email info@propertycomplianceuk.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK
Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at
